Design and manufacture of atmospheric radar systems

The 2007 Telstra-EIA Award for Engineering Excellence is awarded to the individual or team who conceives the years best innovative idea and develops it to 'proof-of-concept', as assessed by the following criteria:

• Originality of concept
• Ability of the concept to meet design objectives
• Relative advantage of concept to alternatives
• Quality of engineering
• Cost/effectiveness of engineering
• Exploitation of concept

A record number of entries were received by the Electronics Industry Association (EIA) for the 2007 awards series. The STX-II Solid State Transmitter was one of three projects to make it to the final round of judging against an impressive field of contenders but was unsuccessful on the night.
